Between Diaspora and the State: The New Antisemitism and Israeli National Security

Alban Dafa is currently pursuing his DPhil in Area Studies (Middle East). His research focuses on understanding the Israeli national security threat perceptions stemming from anti-Zionism and their impact on contemporary Jewish identity. Specific strands within his research include Aran-Israeli relations, US-Israeli relations, and Israeli-Diaspora relations. More broadly, he is interested in exploring the challenges to the legitimisation and preservation of state power. Alban has also been working on EU enlargement policy in the Western Balkans and security sector reform in Albania and Kosovo. He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and of the University of Exeter where he completed his Master of Arts in Politics and International Relations of the Middle East as a Chevening scholar.
